There are certainly A LOT of women out there that are banging their heads against their keyboard trying to master the fast hard sell, the hard close. So the important question could very well by, “How can women embrace and monetize the SOFT sell & WIN!?”
The soft selling technique doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t connect. This is a gentle way of doing business, and it’s something that is very easy to do within social media. It embraces your natural nuances and your natural tendencies. Using your current talents and strengths!
Now-a-days, more than ever, more ladies are moving toward a soft sell. Plain and simple we’re tired of the chasing and the pitching! (Especially on Facebook and Social Media) The hard sell doesn’t seem natural anymore! The Good News is; It doesn’t have to BE that way anymore!! I love the ability to be able to work my business in a more natural (and super productive, effective) way through social media.

We have a lot more power and control than we think.
When we open our Facebook page & posts, we want to be ask ourselves; what emotion is someone going to feel or think when they see or read this?
Are they gonna feel salesy and spamy?
Are they gonna feel that they’re just being pitched when they just want to be entertained and are just looking to have some laughter, to be inspired, educated and empowered?
Let social media help you, NOT hinder you!
Post things that are eye catching, inspiring and enlightening so people will STOP scrolling and read your posts!
If your post is not different and original other women are not going to connect with it as much as they could, they are less likely to “like it or comment upon it”.
It has to be a conversation, not a sales pitch!
You are a salesperson, you have something to market, whether it’s your service, products or the opportunity for them to join you … You have to be able to relax when you’re showing up and be able to build that trust, connection and conversation!
In attraction marketing (within my Social Retail Biz) we use Facebook to do the presentation or introduction, the follow up, and the gentle, soft closing and we teach our team to do the same. Use your natural tendencies!
Build the connection, the relationship. Ask more questions.
That’s the pure essence of soft selling! Build a connection and trust! Social media lets us show different aspects of ourselves. Women want to do business with women that will lead them someplace, provide them with something they’ve never been provided before. You want to do business with women you’d like to have coffee with. The relationships that you build have to be genuine, full of caring and trust and inspiration.
We have to dig into our limbic brains. Bring EMOTIONS to the table. Have other women feel joy, inspiration… or sometimes even pain! Share stories and let them see where you work and have them feel the deeper things beyond… touch that touchy feely part! That way you’re going to be more memorable.
People don’t remember facts and figures, they remember how they FEEL.
GIVE GIVE GIVE And then GIVE MORE. Mother Teresa, Oprah, Martha Stewart… these women gave of themselves and raised their value up because of their giving! What can you give to other people that they won’t find anywhere else?
Women desire and crave inspiration and education everyday. If you don’t provide it, they will look for it somewhere else! You can provide that connection by giving more, show up with extra love and joy.
Your testimonies, as small and crazy as they might seem might connect with women. Someone might give you a wonderful recommendation. If a women gives you a shout out share your client’s testimonies in a soft way. Share your client’s testimonies so women can be more engaged in what you are doing! Stories is another word for testimonies and equally as powerful. Stories are amazing connectors that create that bridge of the “me too” feelings! Again, building trust, creating questions!
We get to just be ourselves online, we only have to show up a little bit BIGGER and a little bit BRIGHTER that’s why Social Retail / Social Marketing is growing so quickly.
Make sure you’re not stalking your prospects.
This is not about chasing people and sending them endless messages. Pop in regularly and ask questions. Seek for that connection. Be gentle, it’s about the “Hey I’m here, I’m thinking about you and I CARE about you” vibe you’re giving.
Use Facebook and social media to do a lot of the work for you.
Set up the right groups. Use your emotional intelligence. Use the team work, if you’re not strong in something you can team up with someone else who is. Be flexible, confident and positive!
