One of the biggest struggles I hear is “Now what do I say?” once they have bumped into someone in a networking group; or perhaps FB recommended them as a “friend”. How do I build that bridge of connection? Though “this” is social media; beginning conversations online or off are really quite similar. Start from the heart! I picked up this training ages ago and re-sharing this forward!
If you all remember part of my “story”… I had burnt out my warm market to crispy fried burnt black. No one wanted anything to do with my business, friends unfriended me, people avoided me at the grocery store… I mean it was bad and sad… I was the spammy cut and copy message girl running a constant infomercial on my page; buy my stuff, join my team, free this, free that, click this link… (I had a blip of success because of my initial credibility joining this industry in my early 40’s but after that… Crispy Fried Dead Fish) and then Nothing, I mean Nothing .. No sales, no sign-ups; so when say I had to basically “Start Over” … It is completely true; right from scratch; and actually worse than square one!
So what I did; I share with you; because I know I am not the only one out there who was in or still is in “That Place” of Crispy Fried Dead Fish!
This simple strategy is the ground work that in part; has brought me back to the sunny side of life!

4 Step’s to Successful Initial Connections:
1. Use their name ( Don’t Hey Girl me)
2. Tell them where you found them/bumped into them.
3. Engage and Compliment
4. End in a question
4a. Wrap it up with your name (chat later, talk soon ect)
Our initial intent and purpose in that first message is to make a friend, be a new friend, to create the ability to have a ongoing conversation (NOT pitch them Ever)
We are doing our best to stimulate a conversation, so ensure that it is going to be a message worthy of being opened and replied to.
Let it be natural, real; enabling us to build a relationship … People do business with people they know, like and trust; So grow yourself INTO that person in their eyes. If it never goes to “business” so be it; you now have a new great friend! And by golly we all need more of them!
Remember if your rolling your eyes typing it, they are rolling their eyes reading it (quoted from my mentor) Tip: Do some self contemplation.. if you are sending messages un-replied to and you see that “they have been seen” days and days have passed by; maybe its time to do some reflecting.
